By signing the end of this indoor IPM plan, the IPM coordinator, Margie Smetana, of this School Age Childcare Program and the Pest Management Professionals described above acknowledge, and agree to the terms of this INDOOR integrated pest management plan.
A .INTRODUCTION
In compliance with the Act Protecting Children and Families from Harmful Pesticides, Montessori Children's House of Auburn on 10/9/2008 6:45:00 PM has prepared the following indoor IPM plan. By centralizing all of the information about this facility’s pest management practices the plan serves as a guide to direct this facility’s IPM coordinator, Margie Smetana , about pest control and pesticide use. This plan describes the pest management practices for indoor areas of the Montessori Children's House of Auburn and clearly states it’s pesticide use policies.
A copy of the plan has been filed with the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR), and at least one printed copy must be kept on site and made available to the public upon request.
Objectives
The objectives of the integrated pest management program conducted at the Montessori Children's House of Auburn are listed below.

In light of these objectives, the Montessori Children's House of Auburn has selected the following as it’s IPM policy statement:
B.POLICY STATEMENT
It is the policy of this school to implement Integrated Pest Management procedures to control structural and landscape pests and minimize exposure of children, faculty, and staff to pesticides.
C.IPM COMMITTEE
The tasks set before an IPM committee are to:-
| Develop an IPM plan. The IPM plan is in essence, a document that describes the organization and implementation of IPM on school grounds. |

| Communicate about IPM - Facilitate communication within the school about IPM practices. |

| Assist in development of contract specifications. |

| Provide notification to parents about pesticide use. |

D. COMMUNICATING IPM WITHIN THE FACILITY
The Pest Management Professional communicates with the IPM coordinator of the facility. The IPM coordinator then passes this information to the two staff members.
Staff/Students communicate with their supervisors or teachers who then pass information onto the IPM coordinator.
E. EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF FACILITY OCCUPANTS & STAFF
- Head of School will receive IPM training
- "Training content will cover pest-reporting procedures and pest prevention strategies such as sanitation."
- Yearly training seminar on IPM for all Head of School with email or in person information relayed to the two teachers at this school.
- The IMP process provides active participation in procedures. Our IPM professional give important and relevant information on safeguards and pest management strategies throughout the seasons.
- Students must eat lunches only within designated areas of the school We store food in covered containers. We clean up crumbs thoughout the day. Trash is emptied daily. For outside sporting events (in which the public is invited signs will be posted encouraging proper waste disposal
F. INDOOR MONITORING
The IPM committee will evaluate the plan annually. When pests are present, Montessori Children's House of Auburn has chosen an INDOOR monitoring schedule that consists of daily inspections. When pests are absent the INDOOR monitoring schedule will consist of monthly inspections.The following technique will be used to monitor for pests: Reports from facility personnel (pest reporting forms) would prompt the IPM coordinator to contact the facility’s Pest Management Professional who would then conduct a facility audit.
G. COURSE OF ACTION TAKEN FOR INDOOR PESTS
The following pests have historically and/or currently been a problem at Montessori Children's House of Auburn: - 2007 bees 2008 none so far
The School's IPM approach to managing the indoor pests includes the following actions:

2007 we had bees around the school in the fall. This year we have no problem with bees. This could be because of the weather pattern.

2007 bees buzzing around were of concern because we have young children and may not know a child is allergic. The IPM professional inspected regulalry and responded prompty whenever we called. He would eliminate the nest.

The Montessori Children's house of Auburn is a one room school house with master teachers with much experience and attention to every detail. The entire facility is inspected routinely for any issue or problem.

Shrubs are trim and maintained. Lawn mowed regularly. Building is kept in good repair.

| ELIMINATING SOURCES OF FOOD AND WATER |
No standing water and no food left outdoors.

| ELIMINATION OF SHELTER AND HARBORAGE |
We simply practice good procedures. Childreneat inside. Food and crumbsare cleaned up after each meal, snack. Trash is emptied. School is cleaned throughout the day and at the end of the day.

Pesticides are used only when monitoring has shown that pests are present and when the use of the pesticide is justified or in the case of an emergency situation.

Only pesticides allowed under the Children's and Families' Protection Act are used indoors.

H. RECORD KEEPING
In the case of Montessori Children's House of Auburn, INDOOOR monitoring records will be maintained through the following technique: The use of forms which will be filled out by the person monitoring the facility

J. IN THE EVENT OF A HEALTH EMERGENCY
During the creation of this IPM plan, Margie Smetana has assigned committee member Margie Smetana with the responsibility of applying for an emergency waiver.
