By signing the end of this indoor IPM plan, the IPM coordinator, Paulette  Zazza, of this Daycare and the Pest Management Professionals described above acknowledge, and agree to the terms of this INDOOR integrated pest management plan.


A .INTRODUCTION

    In compliance with the Act Protecting Children and Families from Harmful Pesticides, T.L.C. Early Learning Center on 11/7/2009 8:24:00 PM has prepared the following indoor IPM plan. By centralizing all of the information about this facility’s pest management practices the plan serves as a guide to direct this facility’s IPM coordinator,  Paulette  Zazza , about pest control and pesticide use.

    This plan describes the pest management practices for indoor areas of the T.L.C. Early Learning Center and clearly states it’s pesticide use policies.

    A copy of the plan has been filed with the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR), and at least one printed copy must be kept on site and made available to the public upon request.

    Objectives
    The objectives of the integrated pest management program conducted at the T.L.C. Early Learning Center are listed below.

  • Reduce children’s exposure to pesticides and pesticide residues whenever possible.
  •  
  • Manage pests that may occur on facilities to prevent interference with the learning environment of the students.
  •  
  • Provide the safest playing or athletic surfaces possible.

    In light of these objectives, the T.L.C. Early Learning Center has selected the following as it’s IPM policy statement:


B.POLICY STATEMENT

    Structural and landscape pests can pose significant problems for people and property. Pesticides can pose risks to people, property, and the environment. It is therefore the policy of this school to incorporate Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedures for control of structural and landscape pests. The objective of this program is to provide necessary pest control while minimizing pesticide use.


C.IPM COMMITTEE

    The tasks set before an IPM committee are to:

  • Develop an IPM plan. The IPM plan is in essence, a document that describes the organization and implementation of IPM on school grounds.
  •  
  • Evaluate progress of the IPM program.
  •  
  • Communicate about IPM - Facilitate communication within the school about IPM practices.
  •  
  • Assist in development of contract specifications.
  •  
  • Provide notification to parents about pesticide use.

    The INDOOR committee members selected for the T.L.C. Early Learning Center are listed below:

    3) Roger  Gaboury
    4) Donald  Plouffe


D. COMMUNICATING IPM WITHIN THE FACILITY

    The Pest Management Professional communicates with the IPM coordinator of the facility. The IPM coordinator then posts this information in a common viewing area dedicated to the subject of integrated pest management.

    Staff/Students communicate with their supervisors or teachers who then pass information onto the IPM coordinator.


E. EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF FACILITY OCCUPANTS & STAFF

  • T.L.C. is a small residentail preschool. the IPM cooordintaor is also the director and teacher which will be responsible for having been trained.
  • Traianing and and information will cover the IPM Mangement Policy
  • At the begiining of each schhol year all parent and staff will recieve a copy of the IPM Mangement Policy.
  • Paulette Zazza the IPM coordinator will provide all staff and parent of enroll student with a copy of the IPM Management Paln at the beginning of eah schoo year. All parent and staff will sign a statement that they have recieved such plan.
  • Student eat only in desinated area, food is not store in locker nor is any sporting events taking place on school grounds


F. INDOOR MONITORING

    The IPM committee will evaluate the plan annually. When pests are present, T.L.C. Early Learning Center has chosen an INDOOR monitoring schedule that consists of quarterly inspections. When pests are absent the INDOOR monitoring schedule will consist of quarterly inspections.

    The following technique will be used to monitor for pests:  If pest are found indoor the IPM coordintair will contact the licsienced pest control agency for an indoor evaluation.After evaluation is completed and reccomendation is recieved from pest controll agency the IPM coordintaor will contact the board and preform reccomendation of pest control.


G. COURSE OF ACTION TAKEN FOR INDOOR PESTS

      The School's IPM approach to managing the indoor pests includes the following actions:

      SCHOOL PEST DESCRIPTION
      This school has not historiacally had any problem with pest.

      SCHOOL PEST LOCATION DETAILS
      The school has not had any problem with pest. The school is located in a finished basment that has met local and town codes. No food is prepare on site all student bring a bagged lunch from home and all waste is stored in a sealed receptical and removed daily.

      SCHOOL PEST ACTIVITY
      There has not been any demands for action or control

      MONITORING/INSPECTION
      The IPM coordinatro will monitor indoor area on a daily basis and if any pest or found, the IPM coordinator will contact the licesen pest control agency.

      ELIMINATING ACCESS
      The school property is located on our residence and is kept in good maintenane at all times, If any pest are noted, the IPM coordintaor will contact the licsenced agency.

      ELIMINATING SOURCES OF FOOD AND WATER
      All food is kep in isloated receticle and takern our of the shool on a daily basis. All waste is kept in a seal container unitl waste management pick up weekly.

      ELIMINATION OF SHELTER AND HARBORAGE
      If any pest are found on site the pest control agency will be notified and the IPM cooordinator will take the pest agency reccommnedation for removal.

      NON-CHEMICAL CONTROLS
      WE have not had to take any control measure however if in the future this becomes an issue, the IPM coordinator will contact the pest control agency and ask for it's recommendation.

      CHEMICAL CONTROLS
      PESTICIDE USE ATTESTATION:
      Pesticides are only applied by a certified and/or licensed applicator.


    H. RECORD KEEPING

      In the case of T.L.C. Early Learning Center, INDOOOR monitoring records will be maintained through the following technique:  The use of forms which will be filled out by the person monitoring the facility


    I. EVALUATING THE PROGRAM

      The IPM committee will evaluate the plan annually .


    J. IN THE EVENT OF A HEALTH EMERGENCY

      During the creation of this IPM plan, Paulette R Zazza has assigned committee member Ettore Zazza with the responsibility of applying for an emergency waiver.


    K. LIST OF PESTICIDES TO BE USED INSIDE THE FACILITY

      The following list includes all the pesticides that will be used inside the T.L.C. Early Learning Center. This list includes all herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides that will be used in the event that chemical is required.
