- The USDA has released maps of the Spring 2010 pesticide treatment areas for the Asian Longhorned Beetle quarantine zone:
- Read a summary of the public meetings held to discuss pesticide treatment of trees in the Asian longhorned beetle regulated area (Worcester Telegram & Gazette):

- New research that used simulated tree damage to test the accuracy of ground surveyors looking for Asian longhorned beetle concluded that an infested tree is typically detected within two minutes.
- WFCR public radio in Amherst covered Mass. Dept. of Ag Resources efforts to train the public to spot Asian Longhorned Beetle & ALB tree damage.
- The town manager of Shrewsbury was featured in an editorial cartoon demonstrating his desire to keep the Asian longhorned beetle out of that town. (Community Advocate)
Upcoming Events and Volunteer Opportunities:
- Heading to Blooms!, the Boston Flower and Garden Show? Mass. Master Gardeners will have ALB info on display, so stop by & say "Hi!" March 24-28.
- Pittsfield, MA is hosting a showing of the ALB documentary "Lurking in the Trees" on Friday, March 26, followed by a Q&A with members of the Trustees of Reservations and the Berkshire Environmental Action Team.
- Mass Dept. of Ag. Resources staff will be giving a talk about Asian longhorned beetle at the 2010 Yankee District Rose Society Convention in Taunton, MA.
- It's All About the Trees! The Worcester Tree Initiative holds their spring kickoff event Sunday 3/28 at Quinsigamond Community College (more tree planting events are coming up in April and May!).
- "Meet the Beetles": Come hear a free talk from Mass. Dept. of Ag. Resources staff about the Asian longhorned beetle, March 31st, 7:30pm at Wheaton College in Norton, MA.

- This year's Gardeners Gathering in Boston featured two seminars about detecting Asian longhorned beetle.
- Lucky folks got to have their picture taken with a human-sized Asian longhorned beetle at Maple Sugar Days, March 13-14 at the Blue Hills Trailside Museum!
- This year's Mass. Ag in the Classroom conference featured a talk about Asian longhorned beetle from USDA staff and an ALB info table from Mass. Dept. of Ag Resources.
- The Worcester Garden Club's Spring Flower Show, held at the EcoTarium March 5-7, featured an Asian longhorned beetle booth.
